In a Homeland Security Committee hearing examining the federal response to the pandemic, Underwood questioned Craig Fugate, former Administrator of the Federal Emergency Management Agency (FEMA), and other witnesses on the Administration's failure to meet critical needs for PPE across the country.

WASHINGTON— Today, Congresswoman Lauren Underwood (IL-14) led a congressional effort pushing Robinhood, a financial services company that offers an investment trading app, to take immediate action to improve user information and safety. The letter follows the unspeakably tragic death by suicide of Naperville resident Alexander Kearns, a Robinhood user. News reports have indicated that Kearns was shown misleading information by the app, suggesting that he had a negative "cash" balance of $730,000.

The money returned is the result of tireless advocacy from Underwood fighting for constituents to help resolve issues with federal agencies, including securing veterans' benefits, Medicare and Social Security benefits, obtaining or renewing passports, student loans, and assisting constituents in navigating immigration services.

The Accessible, Affordable Internet for All Act (H.R. 7302), would invest $100 billion in federal resources to build high-speed broadband infrastructure in unserved and underserved communities and ensure that the resulting internet service is affordable.
