Expanded Benefits from the Honoring our PACT Act
Veterans, Apply Now
Veterans who have been exposed to burn pits, Agent Orange, and other toxic substances may now be eligible for expanded health care and benefits from the Department of Veterans Affairs (VA), thanks to the Honoring our PACT Act signed into law by President Biden in August 2022. Rep. Underwood has been a leading voice on this legislation and helped ensure its passage to make sure we are appropriately caring for and honoring our veterans’ sacrifices. VA encourages veterans who may be eligible for VA health care or benefits under this new law to apply now.
Veterans who need assistance with their applications can call a VA hotline at 800-698-2411 or seek assistance with a recognized Veterans Service Organization.

How the PACT Act Helps Veterans
The bipartisan Sergeant First Class Heath Robinson Honoring our Promise to Address Comprehensive Toxics (PACT) Act is historic legislation that Rep. Underwood helped pass in July 2022. The legislation was signed into law on August 10, 2022, and it will provide millions of veterans the health care and benefits they deserve.
The PACT Act:
Expands health care to more than 3.5 million veterans exposed to toxic substances during their military service.
Streamlines VA’s review process for establishing toxic exposure presumptions.
Establishes a presumption of service connection for 23 respiratory illnesses and cancers related to burn pits and toxic exposure.
