WASHINGTON —Today, Rep. Lauren Underwood’s legislation to rename the Plainfield Post Office in honor of Staff Sergeant Jose Dueñez Jr. passed the Senate Homeland Security and Governmental Affairs Committee with unanimous bipartisan support. The Senate version of the legislation is led by Senator Tammy Duckworth (D-IL). The House-passed bill will now be sent to the U.S. Senate Floor for a vote.
WASHINGTON – Rep. Lauren Underwood introduced the Resources for Emergency and Security Infrastructure Logistics In Every Neighborhood to Curb Extremism (RESILIENCE) Act of 2026, legislation to help communities better identify and address security risks facing critical infrastructure. Critical infrastructure includes the networks and systems our communities rely on every day, such as hospitals, power grids, drinking water systems, transportation networks, communications systems, emergency services, and other essential facilities.
JOLIET — Congresswoman Lauren Underwood (IL-14) will host a series of Town Halls in every county in Illinois’ 14th District throughout July and August.
