Underwood pushing for medical supplies and testing, grants and loans for small businesses, and resources for Illinois health systems

WASHINGTON – Today Rep. Lauren Underwood (IL-14) publicly released her ‘Phase III' coronavirus aid priorities to help the Fourteenth District of Illinois during the coronavirus (COVID-19) pandemic and the economic impact. The priorities Underwood is pushing for include medical supplies and testing, grants and loans for small businesses, and resources for Illinois health systems including equipment for health care providers and public health officials. The full list can be found attached and below. The priorities listed come after hundreds of calls with business owners, mayors, public health officials, and constituents.

Underwood invites members of the community to continue to provide input by emailing the Congresswoman at underwood.house.gov.

"At this crucial time, my most important job is protecting our community and ensuring that we are able to come back from this pandemic stronger than before. This means making families that have been upended by job and income loss, school closures, or lack of childcare whole again; it means giving small business a lifeline to be able to reopen after this crisis is behind us; and it means making sure recent graduates aren't racking up interest on student debt while not able to work," Rep. Underwood said. "As Congress works on relief packages, I will ensure our community is heard loud and clear and our needs are prioritized."

Underwood's priorities for the ‘Phase III' coronavirus aid Package to help the fourteenth district of Illinois can be found here.
