Underwood Announces Paid Fall Internship Opportunities in West Chicago, Crystal Lake, and Washington

June 17, 2022

WASHINGTON — Today, Congresswoman Lauren Underwood (IL-14) announced paid fall internship opportunities for her West Chicago, Crystal Lake, and Washington, D.C. offices. These internships provide college students and recent graduates with the opportunity to directly participate in public service through constituent casework, district services, administrative assistance, and research projects.

"I first came to Washington as an intern, and that summer changed my life. I was able to get hands on experience in policymaking and serving the people of Illinois,"said Underwood. "Internships provide an invaluable opportunity to serve our community while gaining practical career experience and I encourage anyone interested to apply."

Interns' responsibilities will vary. They will be asked to assist with correspondence, coordinate and conduct tours, research legislation, draft press releases, assist with constituent casework, and attend hearings and briefings on various issues.

Interested applicants should apply by completing the online application and submitting a cover letter and resume on Underwood.house.gov. Preference will be given to applicants with ties to the 14th District. Applications are now open and will close Wednesday, July 13th, 2022.
