WASHINGTON— Congresswoman Lauren Underwood (IL-14) hosted a virtual town hall for Illinois students. During the event, Underwood shared an update on recent legislation passed in Congress to address the climate crisis, protect workers, and protect Illinois communities from gun violence. Underwood also discussed her work to help Illinois families, students, and communities through the coronavirus pandemic. Following her updates, the Congresswoman answered questions directly from students.

“From solving the climate crisis, fighting racism, or navigating the challenges of the coronavirus pandemic, Illinois students continue to push our community forward,” said Rep. Underwood. “I’m so pleased to see so many students in our community step up, take time out of their day, and jump in to participate in our democracy by joining a town hall. Their civic engagement matters and gives me comfort that we are all going to be stronger than ever on the other side of this pandemic.”
