Underwood Invites Families to Drop Off “Holiday Cards for Heroes”

Event at Underwood’s West Chicago and Woodstock offices is an opportunity to send holiday greetings to active duty servicemembers overseas

WEST CHICAGO— Today, Congresswoman Lauren Underwood (IL-14) announced that she invites residents and families in the 14th District of Illinois to participate in "Holiday Cards for Heroes," an opportunity to send holiday cards to military servicemembers overseas. Residents are welcome to drop off cards at Underwood's West Chicago or Woodstock office between 9:00 a.m. and 5:00 p.m. CT through December 13th. Holiday cards placed in envelopes should not be sealed.

"There are so many servicemembers—including 400 members of the 1st Battalion, 178th Infantry Regiment of the Illinois National Guard—who are away from their families this time of year sacrificing time together and holiday memories to serve our country," said Underwood. "As we enter the holiday season, I invite members our of community to share their gratitude with those who serve everyday to protect our freedom and way of life."
