Underwood Launches 14th District Senior Spotlight Program To Recognize Graduating High School Students
WEST CHICAGO— Congresswoman Lauren Underwood (IL-14) has launched the 14th District Senior Spotlight—a program to recognize graduating high school seniors who aren’t able to have a traditional senior year and graduation due to the coronavirus pandemic. The Senior Spotlight is an opportunity for members of the 14th District to celebrate the hard work and dedication of northern Illinois graduating seniors. Throughout the month of May, Underwood invites family and friends of 14th District of Illinois students to nominate graduating seniors by completing the form here.
On Friday, Underwood recognized the first group of graduating students from the community. The announcement can be viewed here and below.
“The coronavirus pandemic has dramatically changed the last semester of high school for graduating seniors. Still, through it all, our students continue to push forward—and they deserve to be celebrated,” said Underwood. “It is my honor to shine a light on some of the seniors in our community who will be graduating high school this month. I encourage members of our community to join me in celebration and nominate students to be featured.”
