Underwood Statement on Coronavirus
WASHINGTON-- Today, Congresswoman Lauren Underwood (IL-14) released the following statement.
"I'm always happy to step up and serve my community in any way I can. I'm a public health nurse and earlier in my career, I helped to lead the federal response to serious public health emergencies during the Obama Administration. I know the challenges our health care professionals are dealing with, and am so grateful for their courage, leadership and sacrifice in this time of great need in our community. I'm continuing to honor my Congressional oath of office and working to serve families in the Fourteenth District during this very challenging time – I've had hundreds of calls with local leaders and residents; ensured constituents stuck abroad return home safely; provided crucial oversight over FEMA and the Department of Veterans Affairs; offered a comprehensive resource guide for constituents; and am working to ensure that federally funded resources are available to small businesses, hospitals, and communities in the Fourteenth District."
