Underwood Statement in Support of Additional Support for Small Businesses

WASHINGTON— Today, Representative Lauren Underwood (IL-14) released the following statement in support of additional Paycheck Protection Program (PPP) funding to support small businesses.

"Small businesses are the lifeblood of our communities and we need to do all we can to ensure they are able to stay afloat during this time. I strongly supported the Paycheck Protection Program in the CARES Act, but it is clear Illinois small businesses need more. We must secure additional funding for this crucial program, along with new protections to ensure the program works for everyone, including underbanked small businesses and others struggling to access PPP, state and local governments, and hospitals on the front lines of the epidemic. This is an urgent lifeline to our local economies."
