Underwood Sworn Into 117th Congress for Second Term in Congress; Releases 116th Congressional Report Detailing Results Delivered to Constituents of the 14th District of Illinois

WASHINGTON— Today, Congresswoman Lauren Underwood (IL-14) released the following statement on being sworn into the 117th Congress. On the day that Underwood is to be sworn into a new Congress, she released a report detailing her success in delivering results during the 116th Congress.

"It's a tremendous privilege to represent the 14th District of Illinois Congress, and one I do not take for granted. Our community has shown how strong it is as we've taken on all the challenges 2020 brought with grit, grace, and care for the greater community that has been enormously inspiring," said Underwood. "In the new Congress, I will continue to bring the voices and the values of our community to Congress and deliver the urgently-needed resources that will help usher a recovery from the coronavirus pandemic and bring us back stronger than ever. The next two years will bring no shortage of challenges, but I'm ready to get to work."

In the 117th Congress, Underwood will serve on the House Committee on Appropriations. Underwood previously served on the House Committee on Education and Labor, the House Committee on Veteran's Affairs, and is the Vice Chair of the House Committee on Homeland Security.
