Underwood Urges Senate Republicans and Trump Administration to Pass Urgently Needed Coronavirus Relief Legislation to Help Northern Illinois Families
WASHINGTON— Today, Congresswoman Lauren Underwood (IL-14) delivered a speech on the floor of the House of Representatives urging Senate Republicans and the Trump Administration to pass urgently needed coronavirus relief legislation to help northern Illinois families. Underwood emphasized that if Congress does not act now, millions of Americans will be left without the critical support they need. Underwood urged the Senate to take immediate action to pass the updated Heroes Act, which passed the House in May and again in October.
“Northern Illinoisans are doing everything they can to be safe and provide for their families, but this is a once-in-a-century pandemic,” said Underwood. “Congress must work together to pass a robust, evidence-based relief package. The American people are doing everything they can; Congress must do so, too.”
