Underwood urges Illinoisans to take action now to verify the status of current passports and apply early for new passports or renewals
WASHINGTON— Congresswoman Lauren Underwood (IL-14) led members of the Illinois delegation in urging the Agency for Toxic Substances and Disease Registry (ATSDR) to address the public health impacts of ethylene oxide (EtO) emissions in Lake County. In a letter to Rochelle P. Walensky, Administrator of ATSDR and Director of the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention, Members pushed for timely completion of the agency's promised health consultation report and assessment of the risk posed by EtO.
Underwood's priorities include improving water infrastructure, strengthening foster youth development, improving health care systems, and expanding access to higher education

WASHINGTON— Today, Congresswoman Lauren Underwood (IL-14) introduced the Chronic Condition Copay Elimination Act, legislation that would eliminate out-of-pocket costs for common, life-saving prescription drugs, including insulin, that are used to manage chronic conditions. The Chronic Condition Copay Elimination Act would require private health insurance plans, including high deductible health plans, to cover certain preventive care and prescription drugs without charging a copayment, coinsurance, or deductible-related fee.
