Lauren Underwood, Ranking Member of the Homeland Security Subcommittee on Appropriations, wrote to Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE) Acting Director Todd Lyons after receiving no response to previous inquiries regarding alleged ICE activity in Joliet, Illinois last week.

WASHINGTON – Representative Lauren Underwood introduced the Prioritizing Rural Hospitals Act, bipartisan legislation co-led by Rep. Tracey Mann (R-KS). The Prioritizing Rural Hospitals Act would address the pressing health care disparities that rural communities face by prioritizing funding for rural health care facilities applying for Rural Development funding through the U.S. Department of Agriculture (USDA).

Lauren Underwood’s bipartisan legislation that would require new Amtrak trains to be equipped with baby changing stations in all restrooms, the Baby Changing On Board Act (H.R. 248), has passed the House with unanimous support. The legislation is co-led by Rep. Jeff Van Drew (R-NJ), Senators Peter Welch (D-VT), and Marsha Blackburn (R-TN).
