WASHINGTON— Today, Congresswoman Lauren Underwood (IL-14) supported the passage of bipartisan legislation to improve the Paycheck Protection Program (PPP) and support small businesses impacted by the novel coronavirus (COVID-19) pandemic. The Paycheck Protection Program Flexibility Act (H.R. 7010) would make critical improvements to the PPP's loan forgiveness process to ensure vulnerable small businesses are able to access and make full use of the program.

WASHINGTON— Representatives Lauren Underwood (IL-14) and Steve Cohen (TN-09) introduced new legislation to help Americans receive cash refunds for canceled flights during the novel coronavirus (COVID-19) pandemic. The Cash Refunds for Coronavirus Cancellations Act would require major airlines and third-party ticket sellers to offer full cash refunds for all canceled tickets during the coronavirus pandemic, regardless of whether the airline canceled an entire flight or if the passenger canceled their individual ticket because of the public health emergency.

WASHINGTON— Today, Congresswoman Lauren Underwood (IL-14) announced that Illinois will receive $286 million through the Paycheck Protection Program and Health Care Enhancement Act. The Paycheck Protection Program and Health Care Enhancement Act, which Underwood strongly supported in Congress and was signed by the President in April, provides urgently needed resources to small businesses, protects health care workers, and expands access to coronavirus testing.

WASHINGTON—Today, Representative Lauren Underwood (IL-14) continued her work to improve mental health and suicide prevention services for veterans by urging the Department of Veterans Affairs (VA) to prioritize mental health and suicide prevention services for veterans during the coronavirus (COVID-19) pandemic. On March 22, the VA reported that calls to the Veterans Crisis Line (VCL) have increased by 12%, and 20% of all calls are related to coronavirus.
